Heating, hot water and ventilation specialists Lord Combustion Services have built on their partnership with Warwickshire County Cricket Club by sponsoring the latest player shirts.

Oldbury-based Lord Combustion Services, who recently marked their 40th anniversary, have signed up to have their logo placed on the sleeve of the club’s new Royal London Cup shirt for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. The Lord branding appears on the latest eco-friendly designs by official kit supplier PlayerLayer, which will be worn by the Bears during the 50-over competition taking place in August.

The shirt was unveiled when Bears players Manraj Johal, George Garrett and Ethan Brookes, who all had breakthrough campaigns in last season’s Royal London Cup, modelled the new look kits.

The sponsorship is the latest partnership between Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Lord Combustion. The club’s Edgbaston stadium, one of the leading venues in international cricket, benefits from an efficient and more effective hot water system designed and installed by the team at Lord Combustion Services last year.

The renowned Test venue turned to Lord as its official commercial heating and hot water partner when it needed to introduce a new water system for all areas of the stadium’s £32 million South Stand, from the player changing rooms to the kitchens and corporate hospitality rooms. Lord won a sustainability award last year for their environmental impact, including the Edgbaston project.

Welcome support

Lord Managing Director Stuart Smith said the team was proud to get behind the club through the shirt sponsorship. Stuart said: “We are delighted to build on our valued long term partnership with Warwickshire County Cricket Club by sponsoring the new Royal London Cup shirts.

“As a leading West Midlands company in our field, we respect the success of Warwickshire on the pitch as well as the tremendous professionalism of the team behind the scenes. We look forward to building on our partnership in the future and wish the players all the best for the new season.”

Ben Seifas, Commercial Partnerships Manager, said: “We are delighted to build on our long-term partnership with Lord Combustion Services by welcoming them on to the new Royal London Cup shirts as sleeve sponsors. As part of the Bears’ commitment to becoming the most sustainable cricket club in the UK, the playing shirts are eco-friendly made from recycled polyester material. The designs have been inspired by the Unmuzzled artwork at Edgbaston Stadium which features the Warwickshire county outline underneath the traditional Bear & Ragged Staff logo.”

Having opened for business in March 1982, Lord Combustion Services has grown from being a mechanical contractor specialising in service and commissioning of gas and oil-fired equipment to provide all aspects of mechanical and electrical building services.

From its base in Dudley Road East, Oldbury, Lord supported key NHS sites, care homes and schools across the West Midlands throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Lord was recently recognised for its achievements in reducing clients’ environmental impact by winning the sustainability trophy at the West Midlands Business Masters Awards, organised by regional news website Business Desk. Lord also won two 2021 Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards and is among the finalists for Apprentice of the Year and Small to Medium Sized Business at the 2022 Express & Star Business Awards.
