Lord Combustion Services have been recognised for making a positive business impact by being named as finalists for two top Chamber of Commerce awards.
Oldbury-based Lord Combustion Services are up for two of the leading prizes at this year’s Black Country Chamber of Commerce Business Awards having reached the finalist stage in the outstanding support to the armed forces and excellence in science, technology and innovation categories.
The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony due to be attended by more than 500 people on Thursday 9 November 2023 at Wolverhampton Racecourse.
This year, the Black Country Chamber is using the awards to celebrate the “talent, tenacity and transformation” of local businesses, their people, and their leaders.
The science category celebrates businesses whose products, services or operations have been transformed through innovation or the application of new technology or science which enhance productivity and enable growth.
Strong reputation
The armed forces award is open to “any business who plays an active role in supporting the armed forces community through activities such as employing ex-forces personnel, reservists or family members of those serving alongside other endeavours which provide a vital link between business and the armed forces”.
Having celebrated their 40th anniversary last year, Lord have built a reputation for sustainability and innovation through implementing energy efficient systems which help the environment for a range of clients such as schools, healthcare sites and public buildings including Edgbaston Stadium.
Lord received their revalidated Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award from the West Midland Reserve Forces & Cadets Association (West Midland RFCA) in September for continued commitment to recruitment and employment policies supporting the Armed Forces community.
Managing Director Stuart Smith said: “The team at Lord Combustion Services are pleased to play a leading role in coming together with other businesses through the Black Country Chamber of Commerce so it is fantastic to see our progress recognised with these finalist placings.
Big night
“We have made big strides as a business in using science, tech and innovation for our clients, while giving opportunities to people who have served our nation in the armed forces, so these award finalist placings mean a great deal.
“The awards celebrate the very best of the region where we live and work, so we look forward to the judging stage, when we can showcase our progress, before the big night in November.”
