Leading Black Country commercial heating specialists Lord Combustion Services have shown their support for Armed Forces Day, the annual celebration of the work of the UK’s service personnel.
Colleagues have joined the online salute being taken to back the men and women who make up the armed forces community, from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.
Based in Dudley Lane East, Oldbury, Lord Combustion Services has been recognised for its ongoing commitment to support former service personnel.
On the back of its work in skills and training, Lord has received the Bronze and Silver Awards for supporting the armed forces covenant by employing ex-forces staff, which remains an ongoing commitment from the management.
Celebrities, members of the public and businesses have been encouraged to get involved in the 2021 online salute, with the results being shared online across social media to demonstrate support for the armed forces.
Managing Director Stuart Smith said: “Lord Combustion Services got involved in the online salute for Armed Forces Day in the latest example of our support for military personnel and their families.
“We recognise the need to help our armed forces community and have not only signed the covenant, we have also received awards for our work. We recognise the importance of helping former armed forces staff by providing with work placements for training when they leave service to embark on the new phase of their working careers.
“We are also pleased to have supported reservists among our workforce and would encourage all businesses to look at not only supporting Armed Forces Day but providing opportunities for people in the community who have served their country. It has helped us give support to those who have given much for the nation.”
The national celebration of Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June, landing this year on Saturday 26 June.
Physical and virtual events are being held across the country to mark this year’s Armed Forces Day. The organisers say showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much-valued morale boost for the troops and their families. To find out more about Armed Forces Day click here
