A school boilerhouse was completely refurbished within the winter, whilst heating and hot water was maintained to the school !
A temporary boiler plant and oil tank was craned onto the school playground enabling the boilerhouse to be totally stripped of all plant, pipework and associated equipment.
Two welded steel one piece boilers were replaced by cranage through the boiler house roof. All pipework was replaced and a complete new control system installed.
Lord Combustion acted as main contractor with full CDM responsibility, managing and co-ordinating all works including asbestos decontamination, building works, flue works, decorations, electrical installation, water treatment, mechanical works and system commissioning.
Worcestershire Leisure Centre
Hot water services were converted to un-vented operation. The existing cold water storage tank was stripped and removed and a new inverter driven booster set installed along with all new hot water generating plant utilising plate heat exchangers to provide rapid recovery rates.
The works were undertaken within the programme determined by planned closure of the facility for other works meaning that the works had no effect on the operation of the centre.
West Midland Courts
By utilising a temporary trailer mounted boiler plant the boiler room was completely refurbished with new boiler plant, pipework, flues and controls whilst maintaining full heating and doestic water services to the courts throughout the duration of the refurbishment works.
Installation of a complete heating system including oil tank, boilerhouse, heat emitters, distribution pipework and controls. The works were phased over two school holidays to not affect the running of the school.
The project was undertake an the same time as an extension to the school and the new heating system provided heating to both existing and the new extension.
